'TIS the season to be merry - and it's also the season for off-season rumours. Such as the one doing the rounds about former rugby league and rugby union international Wendell Sailor turning out with the Thirroul Butchers in the Illawarra Carlton League next year. Butchers president Aidan Beath had a chuckle before saying he'd heard that Sailor was supposed to be playing for the Butchers before joining St George Illawarra in the NRL. "Not to my knowledge," Beath said when queried about the possibility of Big Dell becoming a Butcher. "I wish it was true," he said, "I'm sure we could find a place for him."
