Air A Butchers' Legend

Illawarra Mercury

Friday August 1, 2008

ONE of Thirroul's most reliable and consistent players, Paul Air, will play his 200th first grade game for the Butchers tomorrow in their Illawarra Carlton League match against Helensburgh.

Air (pictured) will become the first Butchers player to notch up 200 first grade games and will carry on a proud family tradition.

Paul's grandfather, John, his father, John, and his brothers, Glen and Jade, have worn the blue and white colours with distinction.

Jade will be in the Thirroul side at Gibson Park tomorrow.

Air's talents are not only as a player. He was assistant coach to another of Thirroul's favourite sons, Brett Jones.
